But after a few miles, everything changed. Running became easy, even pleasurable. What changed? My endorphins started flowing. In short, when you exercise, your brain produces and releases chemicals called endorphins.
The role of endorphins in the human body
These chemicals interact with receptors in your brain, reducing your perception of pain. Endorphins trigger positive feelings in your body. People call this the "runner's high," and it's often accompanied by a positive and energized attitude toward life. You'll feel more optimistic.
This is why regular exercise can reduce stress, improve self-esteem, reduce feelings of depression, improve memory function, boost mood, enhance heart function, and provide many other physical benefits.
Sales is not an easy job
This reminds me of Mark (full disclosure – this is not his real name for privacy reasons).
Mark was a salesman I met several years ago. Sometimes he had a hard time getting out of bed because he knew the day was going to be hard. His motivation suffered. Mark was a smart guy.
He knows it's part of sales and realizes it's not oman telegram data easy, otherwise everyone would be doing it. I'm sure if we really checked Mark out, he suffers from mild depression, but I'm not a doctor.
Mark is not unlike many of us. He confided all this to me during a coaching call.
One day, as we were chatting, I was tempted to tell Mark to go for a run.
It always made me feel better and had all these wonderful side effects, and I thought maybe it would do the same for him. But something inside me told me not to.
After all, this was a sales practice call, so my advice had to be about sales. That’s when it dawned on me. “Sales practice” meant things like making cold calls and prospecting.
Start and end your day with exploration blocks
Every time I make a phone call, as difficult and uncomfortable as it is, I always feel better afterward.
If this sounds familiar, it probably is.
