Be creative and have fun doing it - and allow yourself to have "weird" ideas (even if you're almost certain when you write them down that you'll never use them). Because ideas are known to be like shy deer - and are quickly chased away. So entice them by giving strange flashes of thought space. Because you'll often come up with other ideas afterwards.
When I work with the ABC list, I give myself the freedom not to have to fill all 26 letters. But I have set two rules for myself that work quite well: I set an alarm (on the PC ) and don't stop until the signal sounds. I usually take 15 to 25 minutes. That can seem like a long time to you! Don't give up though. The second rule: I decide beforehand (!) how many ideas are the minimum. It should be 13, preferably more.

Question critically whether your ideas are realistic and appropriate. Since you have now generated at least 13 ideas or so, you can now allow yourself to use the best, most unusual or most creative of them. The others have done their duty.
