There is certainly an art to saying a lot with few words . That is probably why bloggers tend to go on and on about their articles. Well, actually there is more to it than that. As you might expect, the “recent” changes to Google’s algorithm over the last 24 months play an important role in explaining this “phenomenon”.

Why bloggers are now writing longer and longer posts
It has to do with the interaction that “on average” posts that exceed 2,000 words generate. A year ago I would have marked half to define what is “long”. When you realize that most SEOs begin to recommend japan phone numbers list writing posts with a minimum of 1,000 words, it is better to multiply by 2 to really differentiate yourself from the rest. What does a long post encourage?
Longer time spent on the page.
On average a higher level of comments.
The post is shared more on social networks.
It is most frequently referenced from other sites.
All of these events tell Google that this is quality content that is relevant. The search engine wants the user who redirects to a page to have a positive experience. Since it can't yet find out through a personal survey, it looks for indirect ways to give it a clue.
Why short posts can still bring something to the reader
Seeing this trend and growing popularity of long posts as a blogger, you may ask yourself the question if a short post still brings something to the table. Before we go deeper, what can be considered a short post?
As I said before, things are changing. A 400-word post was perfectly acceptable 18 months ago. Today it could be considered rather short. Especially at the weekend, my articles are rarely even 1,000 words long. A “normal” post for me can be 800 words long. If I find myself in a focused moment, I can be written and published in less than 45 minutes. If I am distracted, it can take twice as long.
