The entertainment category leads the market share in terms of monetization, generating €200 million in revenue. The upward trend in downloads , which rose to 106 million in 2023 from 85 million in 2021, together with the growth in advertising revenue to €129 million , highlights the strong demand for mobile entertainment content. This boom is especially driven by streaming platforms, with Disney+ , Pluto TV and Amazon Prime dominating the sector, both on Android and iOS.

Advertising revenue also saw an increase, rising from €80 million in 2021 to €129 million in 2023. Although revenue from in-app purchases fluctuated slightly, it remained relatively stable, reaching around €70 million in 2023.

Temu leads the eCommerce app market
The mobile eCommerce sector also showed strong growth. There were 32.7 million downloads and revenues of 189 million euros were generated . In terms of the ranking of most used apps, this sector is the one that shows the greatest differences between the Android and iOS markets: Revolut, Waylet and PayPal are ranked first, second and third respectively in the iOS market, while Revolut is second and Waylet first in Android, leaving third place to Google Wallet.
