The very doubt about whether distance education is valued arises from the sad experience of communicating with correspondence students. For some time, not very scrupulous non-state universities practically sold correspondence diplomas, issuing them to all students, regardless of their academic performance. As a result, correspondence students began to be considered almost second-class. This attitude is partially transferred to distance programs.
It is undeniable that there is a certain proportion of employers who do not take distance education too seriously, considering it less valuable than traditional education. They may doubt the quality of education obtained through distance learning and prefer graduates from traditional universities.
However, the situation is gradually changing, and more and more employers are beginning to recognize distance education as a valuable and complete option. Such employers value the flexibility and self-organization that students develop when they study subjects remotely. They understand that it is not only the place where the education is received that is important, but also the knowledge and skills that students acquire during the learning process.
Do they hire people with remote "higher education"?
Experience shows that you can find a good job with a high salary even without a diploma. So, if you doubt whether they hire people with distance learning, don’t doubt – they do. True, nothing will protect you from bosses with narrow views who want to hire only students who have won Olympiads. But you may not get into such a department for other reasons: age, inappropriate gender or marital status.
