It was not easy for the seller either. Ads submitted independently were lost among the pictures that agencies paid for. In general, it was easier for all parties to the transaction to go straight to a real estate agency with an up-to-date database and delegate both the search and communications to the realtor. Now that newspapers have been replaced by online aggregators and marketplaces, and most of the tasks for processing transactions have been moved online and automated, the realtor's function has changed significantly. And with it, the specifics of the agency's work.
