The internet was founded in the mid-1990s and has since revolutionized the way humanity advances in the world. The innovation, new ideas and possibilities that the internet has brought have made us a globalized and hyperconnected world, where information is available 24 hours a day and travels without limits.
There are no longer barriers between countries and continents; all information travels around the globe in milliseconds. Today, it is possible to talk to someone living 10,000 km away, make a video call, send audio messages, watch videos, search for recipes, read books, shop and do a million other things that before the Internet were done manually or could not even be done yet.
To reach the point where humanity is today, the internet had to go through some transformations over time; that is why there are phases of the web, namely 1.0, 2.0 and phase 3.0, which is the focus of this article.
Let's go through a brief explanation of the first two generations:
In web 1.0 we had the first generation of the internet. The focus is on colombia whatsapp data searching for information and websites are static, that is, they do not have animations or anything like that. It is like a mere digital encyclopedia for researching and searching for information.
Web 2.0 does not refer to a major advance in technology, but rather a set of new design and execution techniques. Learn how to have a good web development ; there is a greater concern with the appearance of websites. Here we already have changes in the way of use, too, because at this point social networks , blogs, news sites and a little bit of everything that we have today, in terms of what can be found on the internet, are starting to appear .
What is Web 3.0?
Also known as Web3 or the Semantic Web (SW), it is the new form and future of the internet that focuses on improving the lives of content creators, social networks and interaction. The main objective is to deliver the internet to all individuals in a more open, transparent way, in which the user has control and to insert Blockchain technology into the internet in an intertwined way.
In Web 3.0, users have the freedom to take on the role of creator; they don't have to remain just a reader, but can become a collaborator, content creator or influencer, for example. This was already happening in Web 2.0, but in a more timid and selective way. In Web3, this becomes easier, since there are creators of all types, where even a professional, such as a dentist, can use the digital space to create content and make their work more humanized.
Imagine a world where you can control your information, without having to accept dubious terms and conditions from companies like Facebook and Instagram, which say they don't charge people to use social networks but behind the scenes there is an entire system that sells data, allowing companies to pay to talk to you.
Many people may not even realize it, but companies like the ones mentioned above have databases with the information that people provided when accepting the terms and conditions without reading them; the details range from their tastes to the websites they visit and other information. What has made this a little more difficult are the changes to the LGPD and the extinction of Cookies, which will no longer exist in 2023 (although there are already ways to get around this situation).
The Semantic Web will do everything it can to bring this power back, making the person the central authority, the one who controls the data, chooses whether to share it and what to share. Other features that are part of this phase of the Web are Artificial Intelligence, connectivity and greater openness (greater freedom):
As we’ve already said, Web 3.0 uses technologies based on the concepts of the Semantic Web and natural language to allow computers to understand information like humans. It will also use Machine Learning. This type of artificial intelligence uses data and algorithms to mimic human learning, slowly improving accuracy. These capabilities allow computers to produce faster and more relevant results in many areas, such as drug development.
Social platforms as well as the metaverse will operate under the Web3 domain precisely because it is open-source software and for this reason it will allow creator-driven platforms and user-generated content to be shared in ways that were previously considered impossible.
