Here is a brief introduction to the calculation method of video recording capacity. The storage capacity of CCTV cameras is related to many factors, such as video resolution, bit rate, frame rate, compression format, etc., among which the most important parameter is bit rate.

Bitrate, also known as bit rate, is a parameter used to specify the amount of video data per unit of time. For the same resolution and frame rate, the higher the bit rate, the higher the video quality, and the egypt number data more storage space it takes. The formula for calculating storage capacity at present: Storage capacity per day of recording (unit: GB) = bit rate (Mbps) / 8 (conversion from bytes to bits) / 1024 (conversion to GB) * 3600 seconds (in an hour) * 24 hours (in a day).

Take H265 compression with 2 megapixel resolution as an example, with the bit rate set to 2 Mbps, then the required daily storage space for continuous recording is: 2 Mbps / 8 / 1024 * 3600 * 24 ≈ 21 GB.

Simply put, the default bitrate of 3MP camera is 2.5Mbps, and the daily storage space is: 2.5Mbps/8/1024*3600*24 ≈ 26GB. The default bitrate of 4MP camera is 3.75Mbps, and the daily storage space is: 3.75Mbps/8/1024*3600*24 ≈ 40GB.

Therefore, when choosing, you can roughly estimate the required space size by making a simple calculation based on the camera resolution and the expected storage cycle.
It should be noted that different camera brands have different video encoding and calculation methods, and the bit rate itself can also be configured in the camera settings. For example, for a 4-megapixel camera, we can also set the bit rate to 1 Mbps, so that the occupied space on the memory card is about 10 GB, which greatly saves space on the memory card.
