Another Czech emailing tool, Ecomail, provided us with this explanation :

The reputation of a second-level domain can also affect its subdomains and vice versa. It is therefore important to maintain the reputation of both the main domain and the subdomains that are involved in sending emails. However, it always depends on which anti-spam system/email provider evaluates the receipt of the email.

comprehensive explanation of the importance of using a subdomain :

In addition to reputation, we can mention deliverability, where a subdomain further helps with higher deliverability. An example is clients sending newsletters to their employees, where their server could evaluate an email coming from the same domain as the domain the server is configured for as a spam risk. Therefore, it is recommended to use a subdomain in these cases.

A third-level domain is also recommended for transactional ios database emails when you communicate important information to your customers. Therefore, they need to be separated from newsletters with a different sending domain to guarantee the deliverability of the message.

Additionally, for individual mail servers, different subdomains are helpful for dividing messages into appropriate folders.

We also managed to obtain a statement from Seznam :

If both channels (transactional and bulk emails – author's note) are on separate subdomains, the risk of them damaging each other or damaging the main domain is significantly lower. However, it cannot be eliminated completely, because such a system would be easily abused by spammers and untrustworthy senders who would only need to change the subdomain, and their previous mistakes would not have any effect on deliverability.

The list as a deliverer recommends setting aside separate subdomains for newsletters and transactional messages and using the main domain only for primary corporate communication. It further explains the purpose of the third-order domain in emailing:

One of them is more accurate classification on the part of the email service provider. Newsletters tend to be more numerous than transactional messages, and if the algorithms that evaluate domain reputation and decide on the placement of messages in folders do not have enough indicators to distinguish between different types of messages, it is easier to incorrectly place a transactional message among bulk messages.
