Text takes time, time costs money

Since I already had quite a few Aikido articles in stock at home for my Aikido association and have online marketing experience, it was a small step to set up my own webshop. Aikipro.nl has been live for a year now, the first 350 orders have been processed and I have selected the 7 best tips and tricks.

1. Passion, passion, passion
One of the main reasons for setting up my own webshop is my passion for Aikido. My passion for this Japanese martial art makes it easy to write texts, to put myself in the target group's shoes and above all: to reserve time that I can also spend on other fun things. I'll come back to the time factor later!

Of course, it is possible to set up a webshop with the aim of making money quickly. Nowadays, anyone can negotiate nicely via Alibaba, for example, with suppliers in low-wage how to check phone number in thailand countries. If you are a bit smart, you will choose a product that takes up little storage space and ideally can be delivered via letterbox delivery.

However, is your heart set on this product? Would you also purchase or recommend this product yourself? Suppose the turnover is disappointing, do you still enjoy doing it? Do you have at least one no? Then I would not advise you to start a webshop.

Time is money and it is good to map out how much time you have available on a weekly basis and how much time you have available ad hoc. You can assume that just setting up a webshop in your style will take you a good number of evenings or a good weekend. Then you have an empty webshop and no categories or products.

Suppose you are going to offer 5 categories with at least 7 products each, then you are already talking about 40 pages of content, images, internal link structure and so on. If you assume a minimal input of content, then for 40 pages you are already busy at least 20 hours, or 2.5 full working days or 5 full evenings.

Are you considering starting a web shop? Would you rather sit on the couch with a bowl of paprika chips in the evening than behind your computer? Then your own web shop is not for you!

3. Determine your ROI
This is not going to be a meaningful ROI tip with a turnover-costs must be at least factor-x. Of course, your marketing ROI should preferably be positive. However, I do fear that it will be a big investment in the beginning. And then calculating ROI is actually pointless. What I recommend is in fact to make an ROI time/money calculation for big, but even small choices:

This will now cost me x amount of time/money, is this a priority (what are the benefits?) and will it yield immediate results.
