A few words from the employer

As you can see, employers are not as scary as they are “painted” on the internet! Many of them make sure that so-called new joiners are provided with appropriate support and a friendly atmosphere at the start (and not only).
And how exactly does it look like at UPM – the company that Asia joined? Our (and maybe your) questions will be answered by Sylwia Szewczyk – Senior HR Specialist at UPM.
TALENT DAYS: Hi list of philippines consumer email
Sylwia! It's great that together we can dispel the doubts of young people about looking for a job. But first, tell us why it was Asia who caught your attention at the job fair?
SYLWIA: First of all, during our initial conversation, Asia showed great openness. She was very communicative, honest in her statements, and that's what really counts. I was sure that she would fit in at our Finnish company, where we focus on communication, openness and authenticity. UPM is a company with established values, where cooperation based on trust and partnership is of great importance. Asia mentioned that this is also important to her, so I knew from our first meeting that she was the perfect candidate.
TALENT DAYS: So good communication is key! And what does the recruitment process look like for your company?
SYLWIA: The first stage is online. We ask a few questions and the candidate has to record their answers in video. Then comes the interview – in our office or, if someone can't get there, online. If a person applies to us at a job fair, it's good for them to show their best side, prove themselves and be memorable. The ideal candidate should be motivated, ready to learn, honest and authentic.
TALENT DAYS: Authenticity is definitely a very important aspect in every recruitment interview, we totally get it! And if someone wanted to follow in Asia's footsteps... Can you tell us what positions you recruit for most often at UPM?
SYLWIA: In our Krakow branch, we primarily recruit for the HR department. We have different types of positions – intern, junior specialist and specialist. To become a specialist, experience in HR in particular does not always count. We also appreciate people who know foreign languages and, for example, have previously worked in customer service.
TALENT DAYS: Time for a general question! What qualities or soft skills do you think are most valued on the job market?
