I went to another car show on the weekend. It was Perth's turn for MotorExpo, High Performance Motorshow. I went on the sunday and it was a great turnout.
I don't recall there being a MotorExpo, High Performance Motorshow in the past but I hope there are more MotorExpo's in Perth's future. It was held at Burswood Dome. The Burswood Dome has been the home to many a car show in Perth including:
2004 State Title Hot Rod and Street Machine buy phone number list Spectacular;
Holden Vs Ford show;
Perth Motor Show 2004; and
Hotrod show 2003.
The MotorExpo, High Performance Motorshow, saw many favourites from the car show scene in Perth. These included:
2B Special;
LC Torana;
Blown XB Ford Falcon; and
HT Monaro - Tuff HT.
For me some of the other standouts at the MotorExpo, High Performance Motorshow, (other then those mentioned above) were:
Holden One Tonner - Tunna Fun;
1525+ HP Holden Ute;
1934 Ford Roadster;
Mazda Ezy 9's; and
Supercharged Commodore;
If I was handing out trophies at the MotorExpo, High Performance Motorshow, it would be for the "I didn't expect to see that" trophy. The first thing I thought of when I saw this car was the 1976 Triumph Dolomite I saw at the Whiteman Park Classic Car Show back in 2004.
On the surface you may wonder where the "I didn't expect to see that" factor comes into a 1976 Triumph Dolomite. It was near the end of the day. I was heading back to my car when I walked past the rear of the 1976 Triumph Dolomite. It was then that I spotted a massive tail pipe hanging off it.
"What's that all about?" I wondered as I headed to the front of it to see what was happening.
There is was, a 2001 SR20DET S15 sitting smugly in the engine bay.
Which brings me to the car that would have won the "I didn't expect to see that" trophy at the MotorExpo, High Performance Motorshow, if I was the one handing out the trophies. The trophy would have gone to Nissan Skyline LS1. A Nissan Skyline with a LS1 in it.
I missed seeing the output of it's run on the dynometre. If anyone saw it please drop me an email at 'dave at mybarina dot com'.
Anyways, I hope you enjoy my pics from the MotorExpo, High Performance Motorshow
