Salaries in media agencies in Spain increase by 16% annually, reaching an average of €68,000

LThe consultancy firm Scopen has revealed the results of the latest edition of the Salary Scope for creative and media agencies in Spain. This study, carried out with the participation of 1,634 professionals from 71 different positions. In its 13th edition for creative agencies and the 12th for media agencies, the fieldwork was carried out between February and April 2024. The participation included 908 professionals from creative agencies and 726 from media agencies, providing confidential salary data that was audited by financial and HR directors.
In creative agencies, the sample is made up of 76% professionals from Madrid and the remaining 24% are professionals from Barcelona and the rest of Spain. 66% are part of large agencies (+50 employees) and 34% are part of small agencies. Half of the interviewees work in multinational agencies/belonging to international groups and the other half in independent/local agencies. As for media agencies, the sample is made up of 73% professionals from Madrid and the remaining 27% are professionals from Barcelona and the rest of Spain. 85% are part of large agencies (+50 employees) and 15% of small agencies and eight out of ten work in multinational agencies.
Stability and remuneration in agencies
The first conclusion of the study is that the people venezuela number data surveyed are in a stable position: seven out of ten agency professionals have remained in the same agency and position over the past year. Looking at salaries, more than half of the respondents stated that their annual gross salaries remained stable (58% in creative and 61% in media). In addition, 37% of creative agency professionals and 35% in media experienced salary increases in 2024. Fixed remuneration predominates, with 79% in creative and 63% in media.
The average salary in media agencies rose by 16% in 2024, reaching €68,000 , the highest value on record. In creative agencies, after a fall in previous years, the average salary rose by 6%, reaching €53,900. However, management salaries in creative agencies fell by 3%, while non-management salaries increased by 8%. In media, both types of positions saw increases: 5% for management and 7% for non-management.
Salaries among junior profiles continued their upward trend. In 2024/25, salaries for account executives, art directors and junior copywriters grew by 4.8%, 4.5% and 4.6% respectively.
