The reasons for this disapproval are not ideological. They are pragmatic. And here's why:

This means that when men refuse to sponsor high-performing women for fear of gossip or scandal, they are denying women opportunities that their male colleagues enjoy. In a world where a shortage of women at decision-making tables is a brake on innovation and new market growth, that’s the last thing companies need.
