Online advertising formats are getting bigger

Back in December, we discussed the trend towards large formats in online advertising ( Online Ad Trends ) – now the trend towards the Super Banner and Rectangle formats we named has been confirmed by the EIAA.

Online advertising is currently booming, and not just in belarus phone number list an economic sense. The banners are also almost full-screen in terms of format size. Super banners and medium rectangles have experienced an enormous boost in the last six months, according to a recent study by the European Interactive Advertising Association (EIAA). According to the study, super banners with a format of 782×90 pixels currently account for 35 percent of all large-format banners. For medium rectangles with a format of 320×250 pixels, the share in this segment is 33 percent. In the same period in 2006, the figures were seven and six percent lower, respectively.

According to the study, narrow traditional banners are in particularly sharp decline. Their market share is currently 13 percent. That is a third less than in the first half of 2006. In the future, according to the analysts, advertisers will primarily use rich media content. Streaming video offers are at the top of the list.
