How one of our users put it

Post by nishat@264 »

This is how Stephen Sexton, Partnerships Director at NowADays Media, put it after trying four different CRMs in parallel for a week:

HubSpot is also a solid choice, mainly because it’s free. I’ve gotten a lot of recommendations for HubSpot CRM, but after using it for a week, I couldn’t figure out why anyone would recommend it, other than the fact that it’s free. The user interface suffers from the same issues as Zoho, but with a much less robust offering and suite of apps to compensate.

There are some advantages, though: the user interface is slightly cleaner and less cluttered than Zoho’s. It also has an inbox built into the platform, which means fewer open tabs and (usually) better email integration. Workflow automation is unfortunately a paid feature, as is email sequencing.

What bothered me was that the CRM dashboard afghanistan cell phone number list also has tabs for customer service and marketing, which are permanently attached and mixed in the home bar, instead of having only sales-related tabs. You have to click on the "sales" dropdown to find the deals and activities views. It seems silly. It immediately means more clicks to find what I need. The deals view is much cleaner than Zoho's, though, as is the tasks/activities view. The Gmail integration is flawless, and the free HubSpot Chrome extension was immediately useful.

What I liked most about HubSpot was the cleaner user interface, the many open spaces when navigating so as not to feel claustrophobic, and the ease of use and setup.

Overall, though, HubSpot seems like a great choice for companies/users whose sales are ONE of their priorities, not THE priority. It doesn't feel like it was built to make salespeople happy and make their jobs easier - it feels like it was built to get people using one HubSpot product before pushing them to new HubSpot products.

As a sales professional, this bothered me enough that I gave up on good old free CRM.
