The Cover block gets a nice improvement in WordPress 6.5. It will now automatically choose a cover overlay based on the image or color you use for the block.

Then you can easily adjust the opacity of the overlay to fit your design.

Drop Shadow Effect
The drop shadow effect allows you to give the illusion of depth and highlight certain elements of your layout.

WordPress 6.5 adds drop shadow effects to Image, Column(s), and Button blocks. Additionally, you can choose from different drop shadow styles to better match your design.

Block settings in list view
The block editor's list view gives you an overview of your content band database layout. It's especially useful for long articles, landing pages, and complex layouts.

Previously, you had to click the three-dot menu next to a post to see its Settings in the list view. In WordPress 6.5, you can now right-click to access Block Settings.

WordPress 6.5 also allows you to rename any block in the list view. This helps you better organize and understand the layout of your content.

Improved link control adds a NoFollow checkbox
The link control (the link pop-up) has undergone significant changes in WordPress 6.5 to make it simpler/easier to use.

First, it highlights your blog and home pages using different icons.

Second, once you add a module, clicking on it brings up a better context menu.

From this page you can view the link location, edit it, delete it or copy it with one click.

Click the Edit Link button, then click to expand the Advanced menu.

Finally, you can choose to make a link nofollow in WordPress from the start.
