“Overall, the Icelandic economy has remained robust even after the large-scale introduction of the shortened workweek,” said Will Stronge, research director at the Autonomy Institute. “The evidence shows that a better work-life balance, combined with more rested workers, also benefits the economy. The Icelandic experience offers an alternative perspective to many European countries, which struggle with low productivity but continue to follow methods that don’t deliver results,” Stronge added.

Once installed, these panels will remain operational for decades, without emitting noise, fumes, without consuming resources and without costing almost nothing, generating energy. It is the most discreet revolution imaginable. But still a revolution.
