Brilliant ideas for brilliant texts are usually lying on the street – we just don’t see them.
Look up from your phone screen and watch the people on the train. Watch people in the café. Watch your children, parents and friends.
The best ideas come from “normal” life because the reader can understand them best. Strange beings from foreign countries are of little concern to us – but a Snickers stuck in a vending machine is.
The following articles can then arise from everyday life:
“10 things entrepreneurs need to learn from children”
“13 mistakes every mother makes – and that’s a good thing”
“The experience every young author needs to have”

5) Intelligent TV
Improve your writing style by watching TV
As a rule, I hate television. I believe that when watching television, the brain is… let's put it nicely: not challenged enough.
But every now and then I still watch a few series – my favourite is Sherlock Holmes. ( And films about writing )
Why?
Because the dramaturgy is simply wonderful and I like the sophisticated dialogues – and I also find Sherlock’s sociopathic behaviour somehow sympathetic.
But when I watch such series, the writer in me watches too.
