Gone are the old Google Maps business pages: new are Google+ local pages! You may have noticed that when you search for a business or restaurant in Google Maps, you are now redirected to the Google+ page of that business or restaurant. Google has changed the way businesses are found: Google+ now plays a much more important role!The business pages in Google Maps have been converted to local pages on Google+, which have much more social interaction and more possibilities to present your brand or company well. Many companies do not yet use these options. In this video I give you some useful tips for the optimal use of these local pages on Google+.

Just to be clear, we have two different things here; Google+ business pages and local pages. A business page is your business profile on Google+ with your business updates, photos, Hangout options, etc. Your local page is what shows up in Google Places when someone searches for a business or organization nearby: you can leave reviews and check in through the app.

Previously, the business page and local page were separate and had to be managed australia telegram data separately. But since a few months, they can be fully integrated . As soon as someone searches for your business, they will find one Google+ page, with a map, contact information, reviews, your updates, photos and so on. Google+ now has a local tab on the left in the 'sidebar', where you get an overview of all local businesses and where you can also see what friends recommend you.

Tip 1: Get as many Zagat reviews as possible.
Google recently acquired Zagat , which makes it easy and quick for people to review and rate your business. This replaces the old 5-star rating on Google Places. Good to know: you need 10 reviews to get this new Zagat feature on your local business page.
