Hello, hello, my dear friends! Thank you for joining me for this new episode of Walk with Johan. And today… So, I’m not going to sing. You may have thought that when you read the title, “a song to live happily for a very long time”. I’m not going to sing, but I’m going to share with you a text that seems to me to be extraordinary for staying happy. So thank you for joining me for this walk. We walk in the fields, at the edge of the forests, on paths. It’s quite windy today, once again, like the previous weeks, but it’s always a pleasure to have you with me.
And before moving on to the content, I wanted to remind you that registrations for the Authentic French Academy , which are currently closed, they are closed 90% of the year, well they will reopen on July 1st, so this Saturday. And what I invite you to do is go and discover the presentation page which is in the first link in the description. You will discover all the contents of the academy and you will discover everything that the academy will do for you: our modules, the SOS sheets which will help you improve your conjugation, grammar, vocabulary.
You will have a fairly precise description of everything that the academy can offer you and of course you will have a description of all the Zoom meetings with the tutors, workshops that singapore whatsapp number data will allow you to both learn things, but also to speak and practice. That is still something that is extremely important. So it is the first link in the description and I invite you to follow it right now, right now.
The little song, the little text that I would like to share with you today, I read it in a book called Ikigai: The Japanese Secret to a Long and Happy Life . So there, I did a translation on the fly. So Ikigai: The Japanese Secret to a Long and Happy Life, so the Japanese secret for a long and happy life , let's say. It's a book that is written by Héctor García and Francesc Miralles, who are, I think, Spanish and who lived in Japan.
And the point of the book is actually to try to live a long and healthy life. And they were inspired by people who live in places where there are the most centenarians in the world, especially in parts of Japan. And they describe a Japanese word called Ikigai… I think, I hope I pronounce it correctly. At least, that’s how I pronounce it… Which means joy of life or reason for being or a reason to get up in the morning. So it’s really an aspect here, what is the meaning of my life, to have a vision. That’s the meaning of that word.
In the book, they talk about a lot of things, they talk about… I haven’t finished it yet, but they talk about nutrition, they talk about sleep, spending time with the community, they don’t talk much about sleep, but they talk about it a little, spending time with the community, looking for your vision, the meaning you give to your life etc. And there’s a passage that struck me and that I wanted to share with you, it’s a song actually. They say that they were in a village called Ōgimi, which is a village in which there are the most… 'well, it’s the Guinness World Record for longevity. In terms of lifespan, that’s where people live the longest according to the Guinness Book of Records .
