What to do before, during and after publishing a viral post?

Post by Abdur12 »

Most people reading this blog might consider the question in this post to be a luxury problem. I don't doubt it, but it's better to be prepared when it happens.

The idea for this post came from a reader 's suggestion . It seemed like a good topic, although I wasn't sure how to approach it from the start. I'm sitting on the AVE train on the way to Madrid, so it seems that this environment provides me with enough inspiration to write it (or so I hope).

Unfortunately, few of us have been lucky enough to have written a viral post. Word of mouth is what happens. You can't plan. We better be prepared for the "worst case scenario" and not be caught off guard.

How to write a viral post
We started off on the wrong foot because if I really knew, I japanese phone number probably wouldn't be here. Instead of taking the train, I would be on my way to Madrid in my private jet. Viral marketing doesn't just happen. The same applies to posts, even if they have some factors in common.

Titles matter : this is clearly demonstrated by the case of Viralnova , which has fostered a new type of headline that you now see everywhere. Getting 100 million views in 8 months is quite an achievement and difficult to copy, even if many people try now.
Exceptional content – sure, as if it were that easy. I know it’s complicated but it all comes with practice. A recent example from my environment is a post published on the Quondos blog that describes the 200 potential factors that Google takes into account for positioning .
Risk a lot : Something goes viral because it's out of the ordinary. We want to tell others about it because it's so perplexing. You can never know in advance if you're going to achieve that effect. Few of us can conduct a survey before posting. You have to risk a lot. Most of the time, we'll fail.
The luck factor : There are many people who do not trust in luck. Although I do not play the lottery, I do believe in it. The harder I work, the luckier I am. There is a very simple relationship. Constant work pays off. It is a question of time and a lot of patience.
