More than 23 million Spaniards access the Internet every day (about 800,000 more than a year earlier), and Spain now has more than 27.7 million Internet users. However, 86.2% would like to block advertising while browsing : these are some of the data from the report "The Information Society in Spain 2016, " recently presented by Telefónica, which analyzes trends in the digital transformation process.

And among all the figures, analyses, forecasts, and conclusions whatsapp number list that the report unpacks in its more than 280 pages, here are the trends I consider most notable:

The explosion in the use of instant messaging services has yet to reach its peak. In Spain, 94.5% of Internet users already use instant messaging , 3% more than in 2015. Globally, the number of users of the four main instant messaging applications (WhatsApp, Line, Telegram, and WeChat) has reached 2.5 billion, surpassing the number of users of the four main social media applications for the first time.

59.8% of Spanish internet users use instant messaging services for work purposes, to communicate with colleagues. On the other hand, 37.4% of internet users have already communicated with companies and businesses using this channel, and a slightly higher number, specifically 38.2%, say they would like to communicate with companies and businesses using instant messaging : messaging in relationships within companies and for communication between companies and users is already a reality.

The development of bots and chatbots for customer service is growing.
The goal of bots would be to replicate, albeit in a more sophisticated way, traditional telephone customer service systems that use natural language, while enriching communication by allowing for other types of resources and increasing the artificial intelligence capabilities that sustain the conversation.
