How to design successful email marketing April 15, 2013

Emailing isn't dead, far from it. On the contrary, it remains one of the most widely used online marketing tools. But how can you optimize its effectiveness and get the most out of it? Here are nine tips, included in HubSpot's The Anatomy of a Five-Star Email :

1. The “Subject” phrase is essential.
It's primarily about the ability to differentiate the email from country email list all the others in the inbox. It can make the difference between the click of opening and reading and simply deleting it. It should provide relevant information and, whenever possible, personalize it with the recipient's name and include calls to action. The more explicit, direct, and brief, the better: it's recommended not to write more than 50 characters. But be careful not to end up in the spam folder: terms like "free," "discount," and "coupon" are strong candidates to hit email systems' anti-spam filters.

2. Better if the sender is a person.
Sending emails from a person's email account with a first and last name, rather than a corporate mailbox, increases the email open rate... even if that person doesn't actually exist.

3. In line with corporate identity.
Email creativity should reflect the company's corporate image guidelines and clearly identify its identity. One option is to design pre-designed templates: keep in mind that the more design elements (images, videos, etc.), the larger the email will be, the faster it will load, and the less effective it will be.

4. The content, personalized.
Simply including the recipient's name in the body of the email can make a huge difference. Not to mention the convenience of personalizing the content based on the recipient's interests.
