Meta descriptions are displayed alongside the website title in Google's search results. What exactly are meta descriptions?

Another criterion for the display of the meta description in the SERPs is the keyword that was searched for. Depending on the keyword, Google does not refer to the meta description because it may not be suitable, but uses other, more relevant text from the website in the snippets.
