After the initial glitches were ironed out, keen observers noticed that Google was smoothly shifting from the San Francisco area to cleaning companies in San Jose.
Google has officially announced a new feature in Google+ :
“ From “clogged sink” to “locked out of apartment,” there are millions of searches per day for plumbers, locksmiths and other essential home services. To help these businesses better reach their customers, we’re introducing AdWords Express ads, available now for plumbers, locksmiths, cleaning services and handymen in select San Francisco Bay Area cities. For more information about our ad services, visit google.com/homeserviceads .”
Remember, this is the core on which catalogs, billboards, and local newspapers were based.
Whether you think this is a good or bad idea, beta testing tells Google two things:
first of all, users like this type of functionality,
and secondly – they can make money on it.
You may notice that the new feature in Google takes the top positions instead of the usual top three ads, meaning they dominate PPC searches. From now on, you will have to use the “ home and apartment services ” ads offered by Google.
It is not yet clear whether the standard rules apply in terms of bid size, keyword quality or on-page content, but this will become clear as the overall change process progresses.
